Hālau ʻO Kapikohānaiāmālama serves the Hawaiian community across Maui by providing a safe and nurturing learning environment for students from early childhood to adolescence. The goal is to shape future leaders by fostering a deep love for their ʻāina through interdisciplinary courses rooted in traditional Hawaiian knowledge, stories, songs, chants, and language. The four-week summer program is open to students entering grades K-12, including those from Kamehameha Schools, State of Hawaiʻi DOE, public charter schools, and other private institutions.
SUMMER HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: Nani Ke Ao Nei (kindergarten), ʻĀina Alliances (1st grade), Kai Kommotions (2nd grade), Birds of a Feather (3rd), Wai Wonders (4th), Moʻolelo Makers (5th), Moananuiākea (6th), Māʻona ka ʻŌpū (7th), and Kilohana nā Kūpuna (8th). For high school level: Ka Uluwehi O Ke Kai, Kupu Nā Leo, Lāʻau Hawaiʻi/Ethnobotany, Papa Hoʻokele Waʻa, and Surfing.
