The video opens with Nick explaining the Lei Nāhonoapiʻilani Project, telling us about the songbook & music commemorating West Maui. Then we hear from Zach, who talks about the importance of stoking our internal flame with mele. He introduces the song Lei Nāhonoapiʻilani that will be premiered during the concert & sung by Maui artists, about a thousand keiki hula dancers & ukulele players, and the entire audience in the castle theater. This song is meant to keep that aloha ʻāina fire burning within all of us on Maui; This is Maui’s song.
